Educators must complete a rigorous application and interview process prior to being accepted into the program. The training program requires a 2 year commitment on their part. A summary of their 9 month training schedule can be found in the downloadable PDF EDI Information Brochure.
Educators are matched with a village and must have a mastery of the mother tongue (local language) of the village, as well as English. During each term in the village they will not only be teaching the children, but working with the community through community health and development projects and discipleship.
During the Educators 2 year commitment they will draw a monthly salary. The Institute is designed to operate with minimal expenses and overhead. While in the training program the Educators will not only be learning the skills they will be teaching in the villages, they will also be practicing them. You can help fund this program by sponsoring a national missionary Educator.
At the Educator Development Institute, Missionary Educators are trained to work within their own culture ministering in remote villages of Northern Uganda and South Sudan by providing Christian Education (using the Roots to Fruits curriculum), community health education and development, and Christian discipleship.
